How are EWD doors made?
EWD doors are made with authentic stile and rail construction. Traditional dowel construction creates tight solid joints. Doors and components are built solid, with doors and components made of the same stain-grade wood.
Can EWD build this custom door?
Yes, we can build nearly any design in any size. Size restrictions may exist for products with design pressure and impact approvals. Have something in mind? Discuss with a EWD team member.
Are your products weather tested?
Yes, performance rated door systems are subject to air, water and structural test in accordance with ASTM testing standards. Our standard operating hardware is stainless steel or solid brass material for corrosion resistance. Our standard exterior factory finish includes the use of high performance, advanced UV resistant coatings.
Are your door systems hurricane rated (impact resistant)?
Yes, our performance rated systems are designed specifically for coastal and HVHZ (high velocity hurricane zones) applications.
What type of wood do you offer?
Our wood species are selected for their lasting durability and timeless look, with each providing its own distinctive qualities. We kiln-dry all our wood as part of the full production process, controlling this part of the process ensures that all moisture content is reduced appropriately before use. Wood types offered are our Mahogany (Mara-macho), Oak (Roble) and Ipe (Handroanthus spp.).
What glass options are available?
You can select from fabricated glass types such as insulated, laminated, insulated laminated and monolithic tempered. We offer Cardinal and PPG Low-E coatings, tints and textures to customize your glass option. We offer the ability to make any custom glass design and offer a wide range of glass options. Size restrictions do exist for particular glass types. Contact us to discuss your project needs.
What finish color options do you offer?
Standard stain color options are available to select from. EWD can match or provide custom color finish options at an up charge. Paint and primer options are considered custom and are available. Contact us to discuss your project needs.
Does EWD send out finish samples?
Yes, we do have finish color samples that can be provided upon request. Fee may apply. For orders with custom finishes, finish color samples are provided and require approval. Contact us to discuss your project needs.
Does EWD send out any product samples?
Yes, we can provide product samples such as a corner section, operating corner section, wood sample or component. Fee may apply. Contact us to discuss your project needs.
What are the prices for your door systems?
EWD doors are made-to-order, manufactured to your specifications in nearly any design at any size. The cost of our products vary per product type, design, size and finishes. Quotations are required for all projects. Need a quote? click here.
What are your lead times?
Lead times vary depending on product type, quantity and finishes. As a made-to-order door manufacturer, our doors typically take 5-7 weeks for priority lead time option and 8-12 weeks for standard lead time option. Priority lead time is available at an up charge for all quotations unless expressed otherwise.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping cost varies per your location and size of your order. All quotations include shipping unless expressed otherwise.
How are your door systems shipped?
All of our door systems are shipped on a shrink wrapped pallet via a freight carrier. Prior to shipment our quality assurance team takes images and records that all product is appropriately placed and in proper condition.
